Welcome to the Malta Libraries Council website

The Malta Libraries Council is a government appointed council as stipulated in the Malta Libraries Act, 2011. The council has an advisory role and is entrusted with providing advise to the Minister responsible for libraries and the Malta Libraries on strategic as well as technical issues concerning the National Library of Malta as well as the public library network across Malta and Gozo.

at Palazzo Falson, Mdina

A children's workshop, (suitable for children aged between 8-12 years), exploring the doodles and nonsense verse of Edward Lear led by Catherine S. Galea. All equipment will be supplied. Participation is free of charge but pre-booking is essential.

The workshop is organised by Palazzo Falson on behalf of Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti.

The workshop is being organised on the occasion of the exhibition "Edward Lear: Watercolours and Words" and forms part of Palazzo Falson's Christmas calendar of activities. The workshop also celebrates "Libraries Day" which falls on 10 December 2014.

Libraries Day is an initiative of the Malta Libraries Council and is this year linked to the important role libraries play in promoting LITERACY. Libraries Day is supported by Malta Libraries, The University of Malta's Department of Library Information & Archive Sciences, the National Book Council (Malta), and the Graphic Novels Library Malta.
